Posts about the Western railway and its importance for public transport in the region.
In December 2025 I voted for Kirkkonummi joining the Western Rail Link. The vote did not decide whether the line would be built, only whether Northern Kirkkonummi would get a commuter rail station. The council withdrew without an impact assessment and against the officials’ proposal, and as things stand the project is going ahead without the Veikkola station. Here you will find my council speech and my assessment of what the decision means for the municipal strategy and for residents of Northern Kirkkonummi.
