What has Lauri Lavanti done on the Kirkkonummi council?

Lavanti has worked on the council and in the municipal development committee for public transport, equality and resident consultation. All his writing on the municipality is in the Kirkkonummi category. The key decisions and motions:

  • The Western Rail Link. Lavanti voted for the Western Rail Link on 8 December 2025 to bring a commuter train station to northern Kirkkonummi. The council rejected the shareholders’ agreement by 36 votes to 15, and Lavanti submitted a dissenting opinion. Since February 2026 the line is proceeding without a Veikkola station.

  • Pride flag-raising. On 16 June 2025 Lavanti submitted a motion for an annual Pride flag-raising. The council approved it on 9 March 2026 by 30 votes to 14, and the flag went up at the municipal hall for the first time on 22 June 2026. The municipality now visibly says every resident belongs here.

  • Digital security of supply. On 11 May 2026 the Green council group submitted a council motion under which the municipality would map its dependence on non-European information systems and move to open file formats. The aim is that services and residents’ data stay available even if a foreign supplier changes or deliveries stop.

  • HSL ticket prices. The Green council group opposed fare increases at HSL (Helsinki Region Transport) when the municipality commented on HSL’s plan in August 2026. Lavanti wrote about it in Kirkkonummen Sanomat on 3 September 2026: Raising HSL ticket prices is a mistake.

  • Forest management. On 10 September 2026 the Greens proposed in the municipal development committee that the forest management programme be returned for preparation, so residents could influence felling in nearby forests at the planning stage. The proposal failed; Lavanti wrote about it in Kirkkonummen Sanomat.

  • Budgets. Lavanti has led the Greens’ budget work since 2025 and represented the group in the 2026 and 2027 budget negotiations. Both years the Greens pushed for funding for walking and cycling, education and culture. On 16 October 2026 the group submitted eight amendments to the 2027 budget, including an annual €500,000 for a walking and cycling programme, for example to make school routes safe.

What would Lavanti champion in Parliament for Kirkkonummi, Siuntio and Inkoo?

In Parliament Lavanti would work on three issues visible in Kirkkonummi, Siuntio and Inkoo: reasonably priced public transport, local impact assessment of data centres before permits, and Swedish-language services in bilingual areas.

Public transport. Travelling from Kirkkonummi and Siuntio to Helsinki requires an ABCD ticket, so a uniform percentage increase costs those living furthest away the most in euros. In Lavanti’s view, HSL’s finances should be fixed by changing the funding model, not by raising prices. A concrete step is to withdraw from the infrastructure compensation agreement, under which other HSL municipalities pay for large cities’ infrastructure projects. Ending it would divide the costs more fairly before passengers are asked to pay more.

Data centres. Microsoft is building a data centre in Kirkkonummi too. In Lavanti’s view, noise, waste heat use, grid capacity and other local impacts should be assessed in the municipality before the permitting stage, and data centres should follow the same rules as other industry.

Bilingual services. In Lavanti’s programme, Swedish-language out-of-hours emergency care, elderly care and therapy would fall, in bilingual wellbeing services counties, under a national minimum standard for health and social services. The standard would set a floor below which service levels may not fall. A county falling below it would lose part of its state funding.

Lavanti is also the initiator and driving force of the Digital Independence citizens’ initiative. The initiative, backed by more than 50,000 supporters, will be submitted to Parliament after the spring 2027 elections.

Why should a voter in Siuntio or Inkoo vote for a candidate from the neighbouring municipality?

A neighbouring candidate knows the same everyday life: the same Coastal Railway, local paper and bilingual coast. Of the Uusimaa candidates, Lauri Lavanti is the one whose home municipality lies next to Siuntio and Inkoo and whose council work has covered the issues decided there.

What does Lavanti offer a resident of Siuntio?

For a resident of Siuntio, Lauri Lavanti is a neighbouring candidate on the same Coastal Railway, and both municipalities share the local paper Kirkkonummen Sanomat. Siuntio has been an HSL member since 2018, so Lavanti’s position on ticket prices concerns a Siuntio commuter as directly as a Kirkkonummi one.

What does Lavanti offer a resident of Inkoo?

For a resident of Inkoo, Lauri Lavanti is the nearest candidate whose programme makes Swedish-language services an explicit requirement. Inkoo is a bilingual coastal municipality where Swedish is the majority’s mother tongue, and his proposal for Swedish-language out-of-hours emergency care, elderly care and therapy under a national minimum standard concerns its residents directly.
