Posts about the 2025 regional elections and the future of welfare areas.
I stood in both the municipal and the regional elections in 2025. The campaign posts set out what matters to me: the opportunities of children and young people, a vibrant municipality and open decision-making. For the regional elections I argued that Kirkkonummi must be represented in the wellbeing services county, which decides on child health clinics, pupil welfare and the locations of health centres. I was elected to the municipal council but not to the regional council.
Most of the posts belong to the series Essays on immigration. It goes through the forms of immigration one at a time, because a productive debate requires precise concepts, and the answer to the tensions is successful integration, not exclusion. You will also find posts on adults’ responsibility for young people’s future, on decisions based on knowledge rather than assumptions, on a vibrant town centre and against tuition fees in upper secondary education.
